The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is India's national space agency. It has its headquarters in Bangalore which employs approximately 20,000 people. Its mandate is the development of technologies related to space and their application to India's development. In addition to domestic payloads, it offers international launch services. ISRO currently launches satellites using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and the GSLV for geostationary satellites.
